Thanks to the Lóma Mór dancers for hosting a small, private workshop for intermediate sean-nós dancers in Minneapolis/St. Paul. We had a lovely outdoor gathering with live music provided by local musicians.

The workshop focused on the idea of moving from “dancing steps” learned in classes to “being a dancer.” We worked on exercises for breaking down and re-combining familiar steps to create ease, fluency, and flow. These skills free up dancers to practice with curiosity, listen to the music, connect with musicians, experience joy, and transmit that joy to audiences.
