Celtic Arts Winter School

Celtic Arts Winter School was a lovely re-introduction to festival teaching after a long hiatus due to COVID. Located in rural Washington State, the weekend has a retreat atmosphere with friendly students, teachers, and staff.

I taught a small class of beginning sean-nós dancers as well as a “Try It!” class aimed at non-dancing musicians, which focused on two hand dances. I was especially proud that my students felt confident, and they volunteered to share their learning by dancing at the evening sessions.

Dance class location. This old building had a lovely old floor for dancing.
