Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School

I’m so excited to be here teaching at Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School. I have a long history with this festival. I first attended as a set dancing student in 1999. It’s a delight to return as a teacher.

Most of my adult students in the sean-nós dance class are set dancers. They have decades of dance experience but no access to a local sean-nós teacher. Our class focused on learning foundational steps and skills for building a dance practice at home. We talked about strategies for learning and practicing independently. We also talked about many aspects of culture related to sean-nós dancing and traditional music.
